Walking & Orienteering
Exmoor is the ideal place to explore the outdoors on foot and to improve your navigational skills with orienteering, all carried out with stunning scenery as your back drop. Watersmeet, Valley of the Rocks, Glen Lyn Gorge, Heddon Valley, Lorna Doone Country, for the experienced walker or someone who just prefers a short stroll, with over 1000km of footpaths across wooded valleys and moorlands, the variety is infinite. 
Horse Riding
With over 600km of bridleways Exmoor is a special place for riding and a great place to explore on horseback. Visitors can ride at their leisure over open heath moors and through steeply wooded valleys. 
Horses and tuition are readily available from the local riding schools at Lynton, Oare and Brendon.
Cycling & Mountain Biking
From country lanes to bridleways and special trails, Exmoor offers cycling for all presenting challenges to road cyclists and off-road enjoyment to mountain biker, all offer a different experience. 
Cycling is easy and enjoyable for all ages and abilities there is considerable scope for exploration and freedom to discover the area. 
Fishing
Sea Fishing - Good harbour & boat fishing with grey mullet and bass from the harbour arm, drift fishing for pollack and mackerel and tope, skate and conger in Lynmouth Bay. Motor boats with skipper are available for hire. Freshwater Fishing - The River Lyn is a beautiful river with a good run of salmon as well as sea trout and brown trout.
Coastal Boat Trips 
Departing from Lynmouth harbour, weather & tide permitting, enjoy trips around the Lynmouth Bay to the lighthouse and smugglers caves, beautiful views along the heritage coastline to see England's highest sea cliffs and get close to nesting seabirds in their sanctuary  at the Valley of the Rocks & Lee Bay.  
Surfing
When the right conditions prevail the surf at Lynmouth Bay is a regional classic. Surfing is ideal for the experienced surfer with a point-break together with a west, south-west swell and a southerly wind, the pebble and rock bottom ensures perfect breaking waves.
Off-Roading & Green Laning
Exmoor can offer the responsible driver some great off-roading and green-laning. Hill climbs and steep, rocky descents together with narrow lanes and tracks, river crossings and spectacular scenery and wildlife present both the novice and experienced driver a great time.

Whether painting with watercolours or oils Lynmouth and Exmoor will provide the artist with more than enough subject matter, from stunning landscapes and seascapes, to beautiful wildlife and wild flowers.

From the links courses all along the glorious coastline to the wonderful parkland courses, North Devon has a great variety for the golfer to play. Royal North Devon, Saunton, Portmore, Minehead & West Somerset, Ilfracombe, Torrington, Hartland Forest and Holsworthy.

Shooting
Exmoor
is surrounded by a wide range of exceptional quality shooting activities on with both clays and game. 
There are numerous shoots across Exmoor, with plenty of choice you’ll find some of the best commercial shoots in England, world-class partridge and pheasant shooting. 

Coasteering
Coasteering involves traversing the sea cliffs by wading in waist deep water and scrambling up rocky coastal outcrops. With leading instructors, enjoy the cliffs and local scenery. This is an ideal and safe environment to enjoy coasteering.

Rock Climbing
This is an ideal and safe environment to enjoy climbing, starting with a basic introduction which will progress as your confidence develops. 
For the more experienced, let some of Devon's leading climbing instructors take you on the spectacular climbs that can be found along North Devon's rugged coastline and remote hills. 

Photography
The stunning natural beauty that is to be found on Exmoor provides both the novice and experienced photographer with both spectacular locations and magnificent wildlife to photograph all year round.

Canoeing
The East Lyn River from Watersmeet to Lynmouth Harbour provides excellent and challenging conditions in late Autumn and throughout the winter. Exmoor Canoe Club is made up of beginners to experienced BCU coaches and is open to anyone who would like to learn to canoe. www.exmoorcanoeclub.org.uk
Hang-Gliding & Paragliding
Permitted sites are at Countisbury near Lynmouth, a huge cliff and magnificent scenery make a visit essential for the experienced pilot, Bossington near Porlock, an ideal place to get current or try new techniques and North Hill at Minehead, A magnificent site with a great ridge run, suitable for all skill levels. www.dscondors.co.uk
